El acero inoxidable es una aleación de hierro y cromo, teniendo también níquel, molibdeno y otros elementos, que presentan propiedades físico-químicas superiores a los aceros comunes. Su principal característica es la resistencia a la oxidación. Algunas de sus características son:

- Facilidades de limpieza;
- Material higiénico;
- Alta resistencia a la corrosión;
- Durabilidad;
- 100% reciclable.
Los principales mercados que usan los aceros inoxidables, son: utensilios domésticos; equipos hospitalarios, producción de piezas para vehículos como, por ejemplo: tubos de escape; construcción; industria alimentaria, industria de productos químicos y de petróleo; y el sector de frente y placas de señalización visual.
